Environmental Approach

We source fresh fish, meats and vegetables from local organic suppliers and grow our own soft fruits, salads and herbs. Our breakfast honey is produced by our own bees. We ask our guests to follow our example with careful use of electricity, without compromising comfort. Your towels will be replaced when soiled, otherwise we dry them and return them to your room each day. We encourage you to leave your car with us and use the local bus and taxi services to take you around. We have a recycle policy. All food waste is composted for the garden, and glass, plastic, paper etc. is recycled through the local authority systems. We do not provide bottled water for drinking, as our Scottish water is beautifully clear, clean and tastes wonderful.

Home Comforts

We will help you with information on what to see and do and encourage you to enjoy the city and its environs. If you are feeling like chillaxing, we can offer you videos to watch, books and magazines to read, jigsaws to complete, and beautiful areas of the garden in which to just sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

We offer a complimentary refreshment on arrival, either in one of the two lounges or in the garden, weather permitting. As well as having complimetary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in your room, we are happy to serve you with refreshments at any time during the day or evening in the public areas.

If you would like to bring a meal into the house, we will set a table for you in front of the fire, or in the diningroom, provide plates, glassware and cutlery etc. for you to enjoy your food in comfort.

We provide whisky and sherry in the small guest lounge - please enjoy with our compliments.

Don't like feather pillows, prefer blankets to duvets? We will change them for you to non-allergic linen and bedding.
