Distance approx 45 miles Total Time travelling – approx 45 minutes

Motorway M8 to Edinburgh, follow this all the way.
Nearing Edinburgh follow signs Edinburgh City By-pass South
M8 junction 1 (Junction with A720) Take right-hand lane to keep forward (signposted City Bypass South).
At roundabout take 3rd exit A720
Immediately take left hand lane (signposted A71 Kilmarnock).

0.2 A71 Calder Junction
At traffic lights at roundabout take right hand lane and take 3rd exit A71 (signposted Kilmarnock).
0.5 A71 Take slip-road at first traffic lights(signposted Currie and Heriot- Watt University).

(1 mile to go) At first roundabout go straight forward on 1st exit.
At next roundabout (residential area), take 2nd exit.
At “T” junction this is Lanark Road West.

Violet Bank House sits across the road to your left on the corner.

Turn left onto Lanark Road West
Then immediately signal to turn right into the side road “Kirk Gate”.
Then immediately left into our driveway.
